The Ireland General Work Permit is a permit which allows a non-EU citizen to work legally in Ireland for an employer in a particular occupation. The employment permit is initially granted for two years to applicants with job offer. You are not permitted to take up any form of employment, other than that for which you have already been approved.

You can begin your visa application to study in Ireland once you’ve applied for a program and have been accepted by the university. There are two types of student visas: 1) C Study Visa: If your study duration is under three months, apply for this visa. It’s for short-term courses lasting less than 90 days. 2) D Study Visa: If your course is longer than three months, apply for this visa. Most international students choose this option. The long-stay D Study Visa costs €60 for a single entry valid for 90 days and €100 for multiple entries. The fees for short-term C visas are the same.
Post Study Work Visa in Ireland

Irish universities are popular due to their post-study work permits. After finding a job, graduates with an Irish degree and Visa Stamp 2 can apply for the Third Level Graduate Scheme, which grants up to a two-year non-renewable extension. They can later apply for a Critical Skills or General Employment Permit. Graduates receive Stamp 1G, eliminating the need for a separate visa extension.

The Tier 2 visa is the main UK visa route for skilled workers coming to the UK to take up employment, usually paying a salary of at least £20,800 per annum for “new entrants” and £30,000 for “experienced workers”. In order to apply for this visa you must have a job offer and a certificate of sponsorship from a UK employer with a valid Tier 2 sponsor licence. The Visa fee will be £1,220 if the proposed stay period is for more than 3 years.

Part-time Work Opportunities
Non-EEA students with Stamp 2 permission to remain are allowed to take up casual employment. During term time, they can work up to 20 hours a week. During holiday periods they can work up to 40 hours a week. The national minimum wage for an experienced adult employee in Ireland is €10.50 per hour.
Post Study Work VISA
To apply for this visa, you must have obtained a Level 8 or Level 9 award from a recognized Irish awarding body. The Ireland post-study work visa allows students to stay in the country for 12 months after graduation. Note that post-study pathways are not available to language and non-degree program students.
